The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a modest gain of 2.31 points (0.09%) on Thursday, closing at 2574.65 points.
Daily trading turnover amounted to NRs 3.93 billion, up from NRs 3.74 billion.
A total of 1,12,33,636 shares were traded on Thursday where 1,03,00,688 shares were traded on yesterday’s market. Meanwhile, scrips traded reduced to 354 from 359.
Among the market indices, manufacturing and processing index was up by 76.80 points followed by non life index (16.05 points), hydropower index (6.44 points), development bank index (3.28 points) whereas hotels index was down by 27.52 points, life insurance index (11.18 points) and finance index (0.58 points).
On the gainers side, Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower recorded the largest gain with 15% rise closing at NRs 924.6. On Thursday, the company proposed an 18% bonus dividend, along with a 0.95% cash dividend.
Snow Rivers with 6.40% and Laxmi Value Fund 2 with 6.00% were other top gainers.
On the losing side, RBB Mutual Fund 2 posted the largest loss falling by 8.07%.
Ghalemdi Hydro, which was among the top gainers and top stocks by turnover on Wednesday, was the top most traded stocks on Thursday, with a turnover of NRs 260.65 million. However, its share price fell by 3.01% to close at NRs 286, making it one of Thursday’s top losers. Similarly, Mabilung Energy was also among the top losers, declining by 2.97%.
Himal Dolakha Hydropower and Peoples Hydropower were other stocks that posted the largest turnover with trading amounting to NRs 192.38 million and NRs 140.94 million respectively.
