The NEPSE index fell along with trading volume on Wednesday, dropping 46.78 points to close at 2,796.57. The market decline was driven by losses in all sub-sectors except mutual funds.
On Tuesday, the index fell by 32.1 points. The market slowed for the second consecutive day after a strong gain on Monday, when the index rose 163 points following a week-long market disruption due to the elections and other holidays. Trading value also decreased on Wednesday, with turnover amounting to NRs 13.2 billion compared to previous day’s NRs 21 billion.
34 companies saw price gains, 225 declined, and three remained unchanged. Kalika Power suffered the largest drop, with its share price falling 8.47%.
Ridi Power Company recorded the highest trading value at NRs 85.94 million, followed by Aankhu Khola Hydropower Company at NRs 51.29 million.
