Market hits green for six days, NEPSE rises 7.25 points

In the last six sessions, NEPSE has gained 156.38 points

The stock market continued its upward momentum for a sixth consecutive trading session on Tuesday, with the NEPSE Index gaining 7.25 points to close at 2,726.49. In the last six sessions, the market gained 156.38 points.

Tuesday’s market advance was driven by gains in the banking, investment, manufacturing & processing, trading, and other sectors, with the trading sub-index posting the strongest performance, rising 2.88%.

Although the benchmark index remained positive on Tuesday, the pace of growth slowed after a sharp rally in recent sessions. Following the formation of the new government, the market had surged by 121 points over two trading days, but Tuesday's modest increase suggested the market is returning to a more stable trend as investors increasingly book profits.

Trading activity strengthened significantly, with total turnover climbing to NRs 6.67 billion, up from NRs 5.51 billion recorded on Monday.

Ridi Power Company led the market in trading volume, with shares worth NRs 557.7 million changing hands. It was followed by Aakhu Khola Hydropower at NRs 313.7 million and Reliance Spinning Mills at NRs 273.4 million.

Among individual stocks, Everest Color, a recently listed company following its IPO, hit the positive circuit limit, with its share price jumping 14.98% to NRs 428.

Market breadth, however, remained mixed. Share prices of 191 companies increased, while 198 companies declined, and 12 companies closed unchanged, indicating that gains in a handful of heavyweight stocks helped keep the overall index in positive territory despite broader market weakness.
