Meanwhile, the monsoon has intensified across the country, bringing widespread rainfall and increasing the risk of floods, landslides, and travel disruptions. The Rhythms of Karuna

This week, art students have plenty to offer.

First, get ready to visit “The Rhythms of Karuna,” an exhibition by the first year students pursuing Master of Fine Arts at Kathmandu University School of Arts. The exhibition happening at Patan Museum is inspired by Rato Machindranath Jatra. It opens on July 19, and continues till the 25th.

Homage to Banaras

Students of Lalitkala Campus are presenting an exhibition featuring artworks created after their study visit to Banaras. Alongside their pieces, the exhibition also showcases works by Lalitkala teachers and alumni of Banaras Hindu University.

The exhibition is free to attend and will continue through the first week of August.

Mythical Real

For generations, stories have been told of humans and animals sharing landscapes, fears, beliefs, and destinies. Across mythologies, animals have been seen as guides, guardians, companions, and symbols of transformation. Beyond stories and symbolism, they remain deeply and naturally connected to our cultures, ecosystems, and everyday lives.

“Mythical Real Narratives of Coexistence and Transformation” is an exhibition worth checking out, which explores the mysterious connection between animals and humans, both mythical and real, while portraying the stories of coexistence. 

The exhibition offers diverse artistic perspectives, inviting viewers to reflect on imagination, representation, and the ways we understand and explore a world beyond humans.

The exhibition started July 17 and continues till August 17.

Book Binding 101

If you enjoy DIY sessions, this one might be just for you. Mir Mire Kala Kshetra, a young artists’ collective, in collaboration with Sattya Collective, brings “Bookbinding 101,” a hands-on session where you can learn to create your own hand-bound journal.

From preparing and folding paper to stitching the binding and crafting the cover, the session will guide you through every step of the process.

All materials and tools will be provided, but seats are limited.

Echoes of Heritage: Kuma Sagar Live

Kuma Sagar, Nepali singer, songwriter known for blending traditional Newa music with contemporary styles is once again coming live. 

Sagar’s “A Mai Re”, “Furfuri” has over 15 million views on Youtube, making him one of the most loved artists in the country. 

Experience Kuma Sagar’s live performance at Twa Chhen, Basantapur at 3 pm.
