As one of the most celebrated sporting events on the global stage, the tournament is set to captivate millions with its passion, drama, and unforgettable moments.

But that’s not all this week has to offer. The city is gearing up for a fresh lineup of events, activities, and experiences worth checking out.

Here’s what’s happening around the city this week.

Farm Running Festival 2026

A one day event held annually at Tokha Urban Farm. The event offers a blend of fitness and outdoor celebration featuring trail runs, muddy team obstacles, and other activities for amateurs, weekend enthusiasts and professional runners including all age groups. 

Beyond the running activities, the event also includes food stalls and live music.

Bollywood Night

Get ready for a night of Bollywood music, dance and entertainment. Organised by Rotaract Club of Balaju, the event will feature a DJ set, Bollywood King and Queen contest, Ramp Walk, Gift Hampers and plenty of opportunities to dance the night away.

Kuma Sagar and The Khwopa

Kuma Sagar and the Khwopa, widely loved for blending Newa music with contemporary sounds, is back with a live performance in Kathmandu. Organised by Kings Lounge, the event aims to bring people together and celebrate the excitement and spirit of the World Cup.

Global Consumer Expo 2026

This week also has an exhibition lined up. 

The Global Consumer Expo 2026 brings brands, entrepreneurs, and businesses from across Nepal, offering the visitors a chance to explore a wide range of products and services under one roof. 
From fashion, lifestyle, home essentials,food and beverages, handicrafts to electronics, and household goods, the event showcases the latest products, special offers, and emerging businesses, making it one of Kathmandu’s major consumer and shopping events. The exhibition is taking place for five days at Bhrikutimandap Ground.

Sober Dance Party

This is not your typical dance party. Unlike most parties that take place at night, this one begins in the morning. And instead of cocktails, expect tea, and mindful movement. 

Designed to keep participants grounded and connected, the event combines music, guided movement and sound meditation for a refreshing experience. 

The rules are: No phones, no shoes and no alcohol. 

The event is organised in collaboration with NovaNest and Joy Riot, a community that promotes sober morning party experiences.

Silent Bone

Silent Bone, a multi-site project by visual artist and educator Binod Shrestha will unfold across several spaces in Kathmandu. Bringing together sculpture, drawing, installation, performance, video, site-specific works, the project explores the themes of memory, absence, place, and traces left behind by personal and collective histories. 
The exhibition opens at Dalai-La Art Space on June 9 at 5:30 PM. It will also be showcased at several venues, including Siddhartha Art Gallery, Taragaon Next, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, and Mandala Theatre.
