South Korean consumer electronics multinational giant Samsung will start assembling LED TV sets from March 2023 in a plant set up at Nawalparasi in collaboration with Him Electronics, a subsidiary firm under Golchha Group.
During a press event organized this week on the visit of Jang Sung Min, special envoy of the South Korean President, Samsung Nepal announced their plan to produce 30,000 TV sets in 2023.
Samsung also unveiled its plan to carry out a feasibility study for the production of Samsung mobile phones and other electronic goods in Nepal.
According to Department of Customs stats, Nepal imported around 63,000 units of TVs amounting to $1.3 billion in the first six months of the ongoing fiscal year.
